Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a custom cutting board take to build?
Because every single board is meticulously handcrafted from raw timber to your exact specifications in my Atlanta workshop, please allow approximately 4 weeks for build time before your order ships.
What is the difference between End-Grain and Edge-Grain?
End-Grain boards have the wood fibers facing upwards (like a classic butcher block). They are “self-healing,” gentler on your expensive knives, and hide knife marks better.
Edge-Grain boards are made by fusing the edges of the wood strips together. They are highly durable, show off beautiful long continuous wood grain patterns, and are generally lighter.
How should I care for and wash my wooden cutting board?
Never put your wooden cutting board in the dishwasher or submerge it in a sink. Wash it gently by hand with warm water and a little dish soap, then dry it immediately with a towel. To keep the wood from drying out or cracking, apply a generous coat of food-safe mineral oil or beeswax once a month.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because each board is custom-built to order based on your selected size and wood type, we generally do not accept returns. However, if your board arrives damaged or has a craftsmanship defect, please contact me immediately and I will make it right.
Can I request a completely custom design not listed on the site?
Absolutely! I love working on custom projects. If you have a specific pattern, exotic wood request, or unusual size in mind, please reach out via the Contact Page and we can discuss bringing your vision to life.
